The 8 Falklands Forty Schools Competition prize winners will receive a trip of a lifetime to the Falkland Islands in February 2023, where they will experience for themselves the islands’ culture, history, and extraordinary natural environment. The 8 ambassadors will enjoy the warm hospitality of the Falkland Islands community, with a chance to immerse themselves in the islands’ diverse, multicultural society.

Indicative programme (may be subject to change):

Falklands heritage: get to know the history of the Falklands, with tours of the islands’ capital, Stanley, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the National Museum.

Wild Falklands: your chance to get up close with some of the most spectacular inhabitants of the Falkland Islands – including five species of penguin, dolphins, seals, whales, and albatross.

West is Best’: travel to West Falkland to experience life in a traditional farming community, complete with traditional ‘smoko’ and your chance to be a Falklands farmhand.

Official receptions: learn more about how the Falklands are governed directly from the Islands’ elected leaders and from the ‘The Governor’ – the Queen’s officially-appointed representative.

Green islands: play your part to protect the Falklands' unique environment, work with the Islands' environmental groups to help restore the Islands habitat and protect its wildlife.
